Welcome to Our Neighborhood!

Do you have fond memories of spending summer afternoons with your children at our pool? Perhaps having a picnic or a birthday party in our park? Or maybe you have depended on Glen Forest pool to get in those daily laps or work on that suntan. For many years, the pool has served our community well — in fact, for more than five decades. Now it's time to give back. Over the next few years, the pool will need more than $50,000 in repairs and updates. We need about $20,000 for repairs before the opening of the 2019 season. We have never needed the Glen Forest community's help more. Please donate to this effort. Your gift of $250 or more will be recognized with your name on a pool tile. Don't let this important asset to our community fade into the past. Please help us SAVE OUR POOL! Thank you from the Glen Forest Community Association Board of Directors.
About Us
Glen Forest is a quiet, tree shaded residential neighborhood at Bailey's Crossroads in Fairfax County, Virginia, about five miles south of Washington, D.C.; the Pentagon; and Reagan National Airport. We are roughly bounded by Leesburg Pike, Glen Carlyn Road, the Fairfax County/Arlington County border along Carlin Springs Road, and the Crossroads Center shopping mall. Our main entrance is Glen Forest Drive off Leesburg Pike. Other approaches are off Leesburg Pike onto Magnolia Avenue, off Glen Carlyn Road onto the other end of Magnolia Avenue, and off Carlin Springs Road onto 6th Road. (See map)
Nearly 450 homes make up our community. Most were built in the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. Individuals and families in our neighborhood may join the Glen Forest Community Association for a modest annual fee.
Benefits include:
✔︎ Use of our magnificent 6.8 acre park with its pool and picnic area
✔︎ Membership on committees
✔︎ Voting rights at our annual spring meeting
Glen Forest Pool
The park is our greatest asset. Well hidden from public view, it features a swimming pool, bathhouse, and picnic area with Long Branch Creek babbling past. The pool requires most of our resources and is managed by our Board of Directors with help from other volunteers. It meets Fairfax County's strict safety standards, with licensed lifeguards provided by a pool management company. We have room for 125 family memberships and currently no waiting list.
The subdivisions, streets, and their date of inclusion into the Glen Forest Community Association are listed in the table on the Association History page.
